Historic Farm Volunteer

Historic New England Volunteer opportunities vary from helping at major events, assisting with office work, and working with curators in the archives or material culture collections. Some volunteers work a regularly scheduled day each week, others just specific events a few times a year.

At the southern RI properties, Casey Farm and Watson Farm, we need special events volunteers, and gardening and farming volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications

Reliable transportation to sites, ability to follow direction, flexibility, cheerful attitude. Aptitude for public history, museums, working outdoors, gardening and agriculture, and comfortable working around animals.

Wages, Salary and Benefits

Volunteer benefits include free admission to all Historic New England properties, discount of 20% on most Historic New England publications and merchandise, complimentary admission to programs and events that you work and other programs as space permits , and complimentary one-year membership after 100 hours of volunteer work.
