Horticulture Internship

Paid, part-time, 24 hours per week. 12 weeks. Schedule is arranged with site supervisor. Monday through Friday, between 7 00am and 3 30pm. Working Special events may require occasional attendance on weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.

Intern will work alongside site Horticulturist performing hands on care and management of the diverse and historic landscape. Learning component of the internship focuses on historic garden preservation and adaptive use.
-Participate in daily maintenance, plantings, and cultivation of property including lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, walkways, and driving areas
-Operate hand or machine powered trimming equipment May be assigned special or priority grounds keeping projects as conditions warrant

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in the study of horticulture, botany, plant sciences, or other related field
-Minimum 2 years experience in horticulture field or courses of study
-Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
-Ability to maintain flexible behavior and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under occasional ambiguous guidelines
-Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
-Must possess a valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
